Cliffhanger Tack is a technologically enhanced bentonite clay-based tackifier. Nature's natural binder is fortified with special gelling agents for reliable, long-lasting soil stabilization.
Multiple
Uses
The non-UV sensitive, safe and easy-to-use Cliffhanger
Tack is specially formulated for use as a:
- Soil stabilizer for reclamation seeding and turf establishment -- binding seed, soil and mulch together.
- Fiber mulch lubricant and binder for hydrosprigging and hydroseeding.
- Tackifier for hay and straw.
- Dust control agent.
- For use with Tackifibers for slope stabilization where minimum bulk is desirable.
Standard Application Instructions
- Mix Cliffhanger Tack thoroughly in water at a minimum ratio of 1 lb Cliffhanger Tack to 5 gallons water (1 lb : 5 gals).
- Apply with a hydraulic mulcher or other suitable agitator/spray equipment.
- Apply Cliffhanger Tack at a rate of 100 lbs - 400 lbs per acre.

Soil
Stabilizer And Dust Control Agent
Soil susceptibility to wind and water erosion is strongly
influenced by soil
type. As slope steepness increases or where severe erosion
conditions
exist, application rates should be increased towards the
upper end of the
above-referenced 100 lbs/ace - 400 lbs/acre treatment range.
Wind erosion is primarily a problem associated with medium-fine textured soils and free-flowing sand. Stability against wind erosion of "medium-fine textured soils" is achieved with Cliffhanger Tack treatments of between 200 lbs/acre - 300 lbs/acre, applied at a dilution rate of approximately 200 lbs - 300 lbs : 1,000 gals water. Apply until soil is fully wetted.
Wind erosion protection of free flowing flat sand may require application rates of up to 400 lbs per acre depending upon anticipated wind speeds.
Fiber
Mulch Binder
After adding fiber mulch to water in hydraulic mulcher tank,
evenly pour 5% Cliffhanger Tack by weight of mulch (eg. 100
lbs : 2,000 lbs mulch) into the agitating slurry and mix until
lump free.
Hay/Straw
Tackifier
Cliffhanger Tack should be mixed at a minimum ratio of 100
lbs in 600 gals of water (1:6) to ensure deep dispersion of
the slurry into the straw..
