- Non-toxic, Biodegradable, Leaves No Residue
Atlas
SoilLok™ is formulated
specifically to meet your need for a seed
and earth-friendly soil binder for your toughest stabilization
challenges:
- Forms unique,
transparent membrane with a distinctive lattice-like structure
within the topmost soil layer, ensuring these advantages:
- Soil/sand particles, seeds, mulch fibers and fertilizers are fixed in an elastic matrix, retaining a flexibility which is frost-resistant and effective even with acidic and alkaline soils.
- Full rain and oxygen permeability is conserved by the distinctive network structure formed by an electrostatic bonding mechanism with the soil particles.
- Porous, water-insoluble lining -- does not re-hydrate, will hold through repeated waterings (rain or irrigation).
- Partial
re-emulsifying characteristics of membrane allow "self-healing" of
stabilized soil perimeter.
- Consistent
and uniform high quality -- manufactured from new materials
-- not paint waste/acrylate by-products:
- Very easy to handle, can be sprayed or poured.
- Non-toxic, biodegradable, leaves no undesirable residues in soil.
- Will
not "shellac" hillsides or cause runoff "sheeting" of
water.
- Holds seed
and soil until germination and root establishment occurs:
- Network structure improves soil moisture content, prevents nutrients from being washed away.
- Moisture and nutrients are available to plants for a longer period of time, thereby promoting successful vegetation establishment.
Excellent
for use on the steepest slopes where long-term holding power
is critical:
- Used in
widely diverse climatic conditions, from the cold and rainy
weather of mountains to extreme heat and wind of deserts.
Use ATLAS SoilLok for your most extreme slopes
and stabilization challenges, where long-term revegetation
is
a priority:
- Ski slopes, golf courses, sports and recreation fields.
- Roadside and construction sites, surface stabilization of sandy soil, building pits, dust control.
- Mine-waste heaps, coal and ore heaps.
- Forestry areas, fire-damaged sites.
ATLAS SoilLok heavy duty soil binder was developed specifically for the steepest areas, requiring the toughest stabilizer. This polymer dispersion forms an elastic, transparent membrane with a distinctive lattice-like structure in the topmost soil layer.
During
the drying process, ATLAS SoilLok bonds
together the soil particles and forms a flexible, porous,
water-insoluble
matrix
within the upper 1/8"-1" of the soil surface. This porous
membrane holds soil, seeds, KIWI POWER™ ,
FERTIL-FIBERS™ and Tackifibers firmly
in place.
Biological soil activity is not adversely impacted by the use of ATLAS SoilLok. Once the roots of the plant have developed, ATLAS SoilLok is biologically decomposed by oxidation due to atmospheric oxygen, soil organisms, heat and sunlight. No toxic intermediates are produced during its biological degradation. As no individual components can be washed out by rain or irrigation, there is no danger of ground water pollution.
Use ATLAS SoilLok in conjunction with KIWI POWER and FERTIL-FIBERS for greatest success with native plants or turf establishment.
ATLAS SoilLok is available in 5-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums and 300-gallon totes.

Application
Rate
Standard Treatment:
- 65-75 gallons ATLAS SoilLok per acre.
- Extremely Challenging, Highly Unstable Slopes: 100+ gallons of ATLAS SoilLok per acre.

Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
ATLAS SoilLok is normally diluted with water in a 1:20 ratio (example: 75 gals ATLAS SoilLok : 1,500 gals water).
However, ATLAS SoilLok can be mixed with water in any proportion, meaning that any manner of application on the ground or from the air is possible. Ensure the droplets do not become excessively small and that absolutely no atomization occurs.
Apply the water-diluted ATLAS SoilLok uniformly to the soil surface requiring stabilization protection. The stabilization performance of the flexible membrane is a function of both the penetration depth and quantity of ATLAS SoilLok applied, as well as the physical properties of the soil.
An effective protective film can only be formed if the ATLAS SoilLok solution is able to dry after being applied. For this reason, the treatment should be applied in dry weather.
